Your daily role
THE ROLE:
Are you looking for a seasonal employment opportunity that will challenge you?
Do you have a passion for the Agricultural industry and would like to enhance your knowledge of vegetable production?
Nortera is an established industry leader in the processing, packaging and distribution of canned and frozen vegetable products worldwide and is committed to quality, safety and service excellence.
These roles will work directly with the Agriculture department at each of our facilities (Ingersoll and Strathroy) primarily during the months of May 2025 through September 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Vegetable field scouting and monitoring;
- Field and pre-harvest assessments;
- Assist with statistical comparison of results including data entry and the use of Agriculture Systems;
- Identification and monitoring of weeds, insects and disease
Your profile
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills;
- Proficient in the use of technology;
- Must possess a G license and a clean driving abstract;
- Enrolled in post-secondary education with an Agricultural direction;
- Able to work well independently;
- Ability to work weekends and extended hours as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The ability to work in all weather conditions with lifting and walking;
- Fast paced, dynamic environment that best suits a high-energy individual;
- Willing to travel for field scouting (depending on base location).
