Your daily role

  • Monitor, direct, and mentor employees under your supervision, ensuring effective team performance.
  • Oversee seed supply, inventories, and transportation, and liaise with seed suppliers on performance and trials.
  • Prepare and participate in annual crop negotiations and maintain positive relationships with growers by providing information on production, cultivars, pest control programs, and fertilizers.
  • Develop planting schedules and sequencing based on production and sales requirements.
  • Ensure crops are monitored, harvested at optimum maturity, and delivered on schedule.
  • Assist with pretests and attend daily production meetings to set priorities.
  • Act as a liaison for crop insurance, attending disputes to determine the liability of bypassed acres.
  • Actively network with peers and suppliers in the industry.
  • Oversee the distribution and sale of waste by-products.
  • Ensure compliance with established HACCP, Food Safety, and GMP protocols.
  • Be accountable for the health and safety of employees by ensuring that buildings, machinery, and equipment are safe, and that employees adhere to legislation and established safe work practices and procedures.

Your profile

  • Minimum of 3 years practical experience in an Agriculture field.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Agriculture industry combined with a proven understanding of requirements for successful branch operations; demonstrated experience in leading and successfully coaching others within an organization.
  • Experience in monitoring crop health and coordinating timely harvests.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage seed supply, inventories, and transportation efficiently.
  • Ability to develop and manage planting schedules based on production and sales requirements.
  • Knowledge of crop insurance and experience in handling insurance disputes.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills to build relationships within the industry and with suppliers.
  • Flexibility to be on call 24 hours during critical planting and harvesting seasons.
  • Commitment to ensuring compliance with HACCP, Food Safety, and GMP protocols.
  • Dedication to maintaining the health and safety of all employees under your supervision, ensuring adherence to legislation and safe work practices.
  • Salary range: $87,000 - $108,650
