MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate a forklift to pile and take down bulk product up to six pallets high
  • Safe loading and unloading of both dry and frozen freight
  • Enters data using a computer inventory management system
  • Uses handheld and truck mounted scanners to support pallet transfers from one location to another
  • Performs daily forklift safety checks including battery changing procedures and using proper PPE
  • Organizes materials and supplies for shift start and properly stacks/stores left over materials
  • Communicates tote needs and tote issues to immediate supervisor and quality control
  • Provide coverage for forklift drivers as well as move to various areas depending on production needs
  • Accurately and properly label products, and properly fill out paperwork daily
  • Strictly adhere to all safety procedures while operating a forklift, including Lock Out/Tag Out and the use of PPE
  • Follow directions from shift Supervisor and/or Lead
  • Other duties may be assigned

OTHER PROFILE DETAILS

  • 1-2 years forklift operation experience.
  • Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory, with practical and theory refreshers recertification required.
  • Attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory control.
  • Spatial awareness for maneuvering in busy environments.
  • Ability to lift, stand, and perform physical tasks. This position is suggested to be a medium to heavy lifting capability role: lifting up to 40lbs. Appropriate work intensity level: Medium, but higher intensity during peak harvest periods.
  • Effective communication and ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Must be able to meet minimum dexterity requirements of this position: bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting, climbing, etc.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, cooperation, and teamwork at all times including cross-training others.
  • Must display a strong sense of urgency, must be dependable, reliable and punctual.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other departments once a full and competent operation and understanding of their respective area has been completed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage a variety of work tasks and priorities.
  • Hourly wage range is $22.77-$24.96/hour (depending on previous experience and qualifications)

This individual will ensure strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure smooth, damage-free operations.

*Days and hours of work will fluctuate based on operational demands. Shifts are 12 hours long on a rotating continental schedule. 

Schedule example: Week 1: 3 days of 12 hour shifts, with days of rest in between. Week 2: 4 days of 12 hour shifts, with days of rest in between. Shift start times are 6:00am or 18:00pm, and rotate every two weeks. Flexibility for overtime is an asset.
