Duties of the position:

  • Communicating production needs/difficulties so that we maximize production efficiencies and minimize downtime and waste, while achieving daily production targets while adhering to strict quality specifications.
  • Examine and make recommendations on how to improve key processes
  • Understanding the plan for the shift with true accuracy: what is being produced, for which consumer ensuring the highest standard of quality of the product(s) and quantity of each customer order, etc.
  • Evaluate staffing requirements frequently during the shift through task analysis and communicate with the shift supervisor.
  • Keen attention to detail in order to complete all required paperwork and documentation as assigned without exception. 
  • Analyze and collect downtime data throughout the shift on an hourly basis, reporting findings and strategize improvements. This may also be assisting in diagnosing and troubleshooting machinery with the operator and/or maintenance team.
  • Properly training, coach, and develop team members to perform their assigned job duties.
  • Fostering and promoting a safety focused culture and other values that align with the organization.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with all members of leadership on areas of performance concerns, adherence to safety, quality protocols and procedures, productivity, etc.
  • Ensure all log sheets are completed properly and on time for the Production Supervisor (C1) to review and authorize.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspection on a weekly/daily basis on all canning warehouse machinery.
  • Ability to operate a Forklift to facilitate the transition of goods in and out of the canning warehouse - considered an asset, we will train if not.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The schedule expectation for this position is on a continental 12 hour rotating shift, every 2 weeks which may include statutory holidays, weekends, and evening hours.

The weekly rotational working hours are: week 1 = 36 hours (12 hour shift x 3 days per week) and week 2 = 48 hours (12 hour shift x 4 days per week), from 5:30am-17:30pm or 17:30pm-5:30am, which can be subject to change or adjustment.
