Your daily role

Under the supervision of the Engineering and Maintenance manager, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance department in a vegetable production environment according to established schedules, safety, and quality procedures.

 

THE ROLE:

  • Planning and scheduling all maintenance related tasks
  • Administer the EAM maintenance program to ensure maintenance and PM schedules, parts inventory and PM tasks are up to date
  • Manage the creation, preparation, communication, and issuing of work orders to maintenance team
  • Add new schedule and PMs for new equipment
  • Attend VPM meetings and address employee/equipment concerns
  • Ensures that all parts are on hand for the scheduled repairs
  • Works with Maintenance Manager and the team to ensure a critical parts list is established and maintained and that such parts are always on hand
  • Manage parts ordering through Coupa (and EAM)
  • Brainstorm with the maintenance crew to improve line efficiencies and product flows
  • Track maintenance expenses in the budget and work with Manager to plan annual budget
  • Work with production staff, QA and shipping to ensure all issues are addressed in order to ensure the production of safe and quality food products
  • Supervise, monitor, direct, and mentor employees under supervision
  • Assist with department timekeeping in Kronos
  • Accountable for compliance with established HACCP, Food Safety, and GMP protocols for employees under your supervision
  • Accountable for the health and safety of employees under your supervision; shared responsibility for ensuring that buildings, machinery and equipment are safe, and that employees work in compliance with legislation and established safe work practice and procedures
  • Supervises maintenance repair work to machinery including the training, coaching, and development of employees
  • Works with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager in annually reviewing PMs and schedule for effectiveness

Your profile

  • Post-Secondary program with a focus in engineering or ticketed trade
  • Must possess workplace essential skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and demonstrate effective change management skills
  • Proficiency of spoken and written English
  • Rational judgment and the ability to prioritize tasks according to time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong Excel skills
