The Production Planner will be expected to actively resolve line conflicts and make decisions to produce products that are in Nortera's best financial interest.  Will be required to communicate critical information to/from numerous functional areas including planning, replenishment, customer service, quality assurance and operations.

THE ROLE:

  • Develops and optimizes daily production schedules by aligning line capabilities, operational efficiencies and inventory availability to maximize throughput and service levels.
  • Makes value judgments between planning optimal executions and sub-optimal executions that cover immediate customer orders.
  • Strategically manages finished goods inventory to maintain target days of supply, proactively adjusting production plans to balance demand and operational constraints.
  • Analyzes and ensures that component inventory is available to mitigate risks related to material availability and production continuity.
  • Collaborates and refines facility-specific bills of materials, ensuring alignment with coding instructions and plant-specific production requirements.
  • Acts as point of contact for the sales and customer service team for requests for production dates and shipment of finished products. 
  • Anticipates and communicates potential material and supply constraints, proposing cross-functional solutions to mitigate the impact on production and customer commitments.
  • Coordinates inbound/outbound deliveries of components and finished products.
  • Investigate and assist in correcting inventory discrepancies.
  • Acts as the primary plant representative during supply chain meetings providing information and recommendations to support broader operational objectives.
  • Purchases packaging materials.

PROFILE:

  • Diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in supply chain or food manufacturing
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Communication, collaboration, decision-making and analytical thinking
  • Essential bilingualism
