As an Internal Auditor, you work within Nortera's internal audit department, and act as an independent advisor supporting Nortera's audit committee and senior management to improve Nortera's operations by adopting a systematic and methodical approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes.

You will carry out internal audit mandates within the framework of established methodologies and the guidelines of the Internal Audit department.

THE ROLE:

You will perform tasks related to all phases of internal audit mandates, including planning, execution and reporting.

• Participate in the development, implementation and improvement of methodologies, policies, programs and systems supporting the activities of the internal audit unit;
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems by performing risk-based testing procedures, and exercise professional judgment to determine the extent of analysis to be performed;
• Implement the internal audit plan : plan and prioritize missions, carry out audit work, make recommendations and write audit reports;
• Follow up on recommendations and evaluate the implementation of corrective action plans;
• Participate in audits and special mandates, as needed;
• Maintain and develop your professional and technical knowledge, in particular through participation in professional development activities, consultation of specialized publications and the development of your professional network;
• Support the external audit in its Audit work.

PROFILE:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit or other related field;
• Bachelor's degree in commerce with a major in a relevant field (e.g. finance or accounting);
• Professional title (CPA, CIA or equivalent title) in progress or completed;
• Excellent communication skills in English and French (written and spoken);
• Good knowledge of financial and accounting processes and controls;
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines;
• Customer-focused, service-oriented approach with a proven ability to deal with partners at all levels of the organization;
• Proven ability to take initiative and work independently and in a team;
• Available for occasional travel to Canada and the United States.
