Your daily role

As Senior Director, Retail Sales (Canada)you provide leadership to the sales team, cultivate productive and lasting relationships with retail partners retail and identify/develop new sales opportunities in the retail and private label segments.

 

You collaborate with the commercial management/vice-president of retail sales to develop the vision and sales strategy for the Canadian retail network.

 

You are the primary contact for Nortera's retail broker(s) providing guidance and support in their efforts.

 

This role will also require establishing and maintaining strong relationships with all internal stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, align priorities and achieve results against Nortera's objectives.

 

 

 

THE ROLE:

 

Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Collaborate with the commercial management / vice-president of retail sales in the development of marketing strategies;
  • Lead the Canadian Retail Sales team in the implementation and execution of all sales strategies;
  • Private Label – Maintain and defend current market position;
  • Branded - Expand and maximize market penetration;
  • Update VP of Retail Sales on operational and financial sales department objectives;
  • Oversee the management, learning, and career development of Account Managers;
  • Directly coordinate cross-selling and joint marketing initiatives to maximize exposure and profitability;
  • Foster and cultivate positive relations with retail partners to help achieve mutual goals;
  • Build a positive work environment;
  • Offer ideas and practices that improve sales volume, increase distribution, build market share;
  • Mastery of sales processes and Account Manager processes (line review timelines, pricing challenges, shipping challenges, etc..);
  • Managing the Retail Broker in Canada;
  • Develops the growth and/or maintenance strategy for the brands;
  • Aligns the customer marketing function to our sales channels;
  • Optimizes the financial performance of the brand portfolio, the consistency of the range and the quality of communication and advertising plans.

 

Your profile

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in the industry, including 5 years in a management role;
  • University degree;
  • Able to recognize opportunities and develop a plan to seize them;
  • Proficiency in sales processes and account manager processes (review times, pricing challenges, shipping challenges, etc.);
  • Experience in negotiations, achieving sales goals, building relationships, responding to customer needs, managing processes, training, engagement and team coaching ;
  • Bilingual French/English;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience in private labels and trademarks (an asset);
  • Ability to understand market trends and advise changes in tactics if necessary;
  • Hybrid model between head office (Brossard) and working from home, with travel (mainly in Canada and sometimes in the United States).
